Advancing Flash Games

Technology has taken everything to the wire, and by everything I include computer games which are made just for fun. Initially you expected to find only children and young teenagers playing these games but the trend has changed; as a matter of fact the wave has caught up with adults too. Games have been advancing by the day, with masters coming up with more mature and complicated games for keeping players busy and entertained.

The development of flash has given ordinary games quite a major boost whereby players can enjoy scenarios reminiscent of real life scenarios and derive fun from the fact that they are only playing, and competing at the same time. flash games are advancement by a macromedia, which has inbuilt software for changing games. It means that they can be played from multiple chambers without the need for physical applications.

One major advantage of these types of games is that, flash player is almost omnipresent in our computers. Most likely a huge percentage of players will not need to download it from the internet after they have the game already downloaded. Because most people use windows, there will also be no need for installing other applications like Java or Active-X controls. This shows how convenient it is with the new technology in place. Parents should be the real gaming guides!

Today, children are spending more free time on gaming more than ever before especially computer games. This can be a bit intimidating for parents especially those who do not have much understanding of computer games. It becomes difficult for parents to choose the right video games for their children which makes it uncomfortable for them to go to a dedicated game store with their children.

Entering into a dedicate game store with interactive entertainment and walls and ceilings adorned by posters of digital characters is like entering into an alien world for most parents. Video games genres can range from games about cute creatures and a world of rainbows to violence, bloodshed and war. So how exactly do parents determine the age-appropriate video game for their children?

This is where gaming guides come in very handy. A gaming guide can be a person at a local game store but can also take the form of books, manuals, posters or websites. One of the most important things that a gaming guide can help parents with is classifications ratings such as G, PC, M, and MA15+ which are quite familiar to the classification ratings of films. The classification ratings will let parents know if a certain video game is age appropriate for their children. (more...)

Zombies and More Zombies

Fantasy and horror are keenly exploited by the makers of computer games and also feature a lot in the many free games there are on the internet. This may be because they tap into our subconscious and feed our imagination. It is human imagination, together with the power of reason, that sets us apart from the animal kingdom after all.

Zombies have a particular fascination for some, who believe it might be possible somehow, for the dead to come back to life, even if only animated by some form of evil magic or witchcraft. Why zombies should be so intent on wreaking havoc on the rest of mankind still living is not fully explained. Whatever the underlying psychology, it doesn't really matter because playing zombie games is jolly good fun, whether it's undead zombies or Road of the Dead, Days 2 Die, Insane Asylum, The Last Stand, or Zombie Revenge.

Most of the games involve killing the zombies, if you can call it that as it's rather difficult to kill something that's already dead. Somehow though, with a range of heavy weapons at your disposal, including cannon, grenades, and flamethrowers, it seems it is possible to slow them down a bit. (more...)
